The Film 'The Last Fish,' Created by Students from Giresun, Makes a Mark on International Festival! It Wins First Place Once Again!


The film "The Last Fish," created by students from Giresun Mimar Sinan Anatolian High School Cinema Club, won first place for the second time at the International Future Scope Short Film Festival, which featured a total of 426 films from 27 countries.


Organized by Istanbul Gelişim University on December 5-6, the International FutureScope Short Film Festival brought together young artists and directors from over 27 countries, combining the transformative power of cinema with the theme of sustainability. "The Last Fish," which won first place at the festival, added another international award to its list of achievements. The short film, which addresses environmental awareness and the relationship between humans and nature in an impressive way, received great interest from the audience. "The Last Fish" stands out with its powerful narrative that blends the students' artistic creativity with environmental awareness. The film's production team included; The team included Sinan Koca, advisor teacher and actor at Mimar Sinan Anatolian High School Cinema Club; Cinema Club students Yüksel Ali Sarımehmetoğlu (director) and Ecrin Nas Civelek (actress); Nihal Kandemir, Social Studies teacher at Cumhuriyet Middle School (actress); Şeyda Koca, Technology and Design teacher at Mehmet Akif Ersoy Middle School (art director); Özgür Gökalp Ünal, Occupational Safety Specialist at Giresun Municipality (drone); and Ercan Selim Öngöz, teacher at the Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. Speaking on behalf of the team, advisor teacher Sinan Koca expressed his great pride in his students' dedicated work, stating: "First of all, I would like to thank our Principal Hakan Demir (currently the Deputy Provincial Director of National Education), our new School Principal Sedat Çakır, and Ziya Musaoğlu, the owner of HIZ Construction, for their unwavering support throughout the production process. This film showcases our students' and teachers' environmental awareness from an artistic perspective. It is a great joy for us that these young people have produced such a powerful work in terms of both art and social consciousness, and that they have won first place in an international competition. With the film 'The Last Fish,' our students have demonstrated both environmental awareness and the unifying power of art. I wholeheartedly congratulate everyone involved."
