Young Directors from 27 Countries Gather in Istanbul for the Future Scope Festival, Themed on Sustainability.


The Future Scope Festival, held in Istanbul, brought together young directors from 27 countries. At the opening ceremony, the relationship between sustainability and artistic expression was emphasized, and important messages were given to young people. Istanbul Gelişim University Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin, who gave the opening speech, stated that sustainability should become a way of life.


The Future Scope Festival, held in Istanbul, brought together young directors from 27 countries to address sustainability issues in cinema. At the opening ceremony, Istanbul Gelişim University Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin gave important messages to young people. In his speech, Şahin emphasized that sustainability should go beyond being just a discourse, drawing attention to the role of cinema in making social realities visible. On the first day of the festival, Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to individuals who have contributed to Turkish cinema. Important figures such as Ezel Akay and Erhan Yazıcıoğlu received awards. A workshop was also organized, including high school students. During the workshop, young people discussed the United Nations' 17 sustainable development goals and announced their own resolutions. A total of 426 films were submitted to the festival, and all content contained messages that benefit society. The aim was to provide a platform for young people to freely express their ideas. Thanks were extended to all university administrations that contributed to the realization of the festival.
